Wounded and Naked Man Escapes in Oak Lawn
ByEvery once in a while the Daily Southtown comes up with front page articles that make you yell, “What!!!?” Today’s issue had such an article and it was the headliner.
Seems like Mr. Kelvin Lee of West Pullman had accidentally shot himself in the leg. He had told police officers that someone else shot him but police determined it was his gun and he shot himself. Problem was, Mr. Lee is a convicted felon and should not own a firearm.
During his emergency room hospital treatment, Mr. Lee was told he would be put under arrest which caused him to jump off his gurney, sans clothing, and run away. Keep in mind, it was cold last night in Oak Lawn.
Officers found the felon behind Our Lady of Loretto School in Hometown. This is close to the hospital, but Mr. Lee did cover some ground in Oak Lawn and especially Hometown, even having to cross Southwest Highway (naked)! At least it was late when this occurred (after midnight, he shot himself around 11:00p.m.).
Now he’s being charged with even more.
