German Shepherd is Home Alone

I recently acquired a Chicago real estate listing that is an estate sale. Unlike any other estate sale I’ve ever listed, this one came with something extra. That is Princess, a sweet, friendly and very lonely German Shepherd.
She is four years old and is being cared for by a friend who cannot adopt her. She is being fed and taken care of but once this real estate closes she will have to be vacated. The estate executor has tried several sources to take her where they would not euthanize her but it seems everything is filled to capacity.
It would be a shame to have to put 
such a wonderful dog down. She misses her owner and is sometimes found sleeping in his bed. Her current caretakers are trying to put some weight on her. She was very good in her cage when people came through for showings. She did not bark at anyone.
If anything, she is rather shy and I’m sure she is very confused. She is so sweet and gentle that I would take her in a minute, but I would have to get rid of one of my dogs, which I cannot do (Oak Lawn allows 3 dogs per household).
